Learn how to add videos to your Pipeline and move them through your production workflow.
Adding Videos#
From the Chrome Extension#
The fastest way to add videos:
- Find an outlier video on YouTube
- Click the Outlier extension icon
- Click "Add to Pipeline"
- Select your workspace and channel
- The video appears as an "Idea"
What gets saved:
- Working title (from the source video)
- Source video URL and channel
- Outlier score
- Timestamp
From AI Ideas#
When you like a generated idea:
- Go to your AI Ideas in the dashboard
- Click "Save to Pipeline" on any idea
- Select your workspace and channel
- The idea becomes a video in "Idea" stage
Manually#
Create videos from scratch:
- Go to Pipeline in your dashboard
- Click "Add Video"
- Enter a working title
- Select the starting stage
- Add optional details (notes, target date)
Moving Videos Through Stages#
Drag and Drop#
On the Kanban board:
- Click and hold a video card
- Drag it to the target stage column
- Release to drop
Videos automatically save their new position.
Quick Status Change#
On a video's detail view:
- Click the current status
- Select the new status from the dropdown
- Status updates immediately
Bulk Updates#
Select multiple videos to move together:
- Check the boxes on video cards
- Use "Move Selected" action
- Choose destination stage
Video Details#
Each video can include:
Working Title#
Your internal name for the video. Can change as you develop the concept.
Notes#
Free-form text for:
- Script outlines
- Research notes
- Feedback from reviews
- Production reminders
Target Publish Date#
When you plan to publish. Helps with:
- Calendar planning
- Team coordination
- Content cadence
YouTube URL#
After publishing, add the live URL to:
- Track the video is complete
- Easy access to analytics
- Reference from Outlier
Source Information#
If added from extension or AI idea:
- Inspired by (source video URL)
- Source title and channel
- Outlier score
Managing Your Pipeline#
Filtering Videos#
Filter the view by:
- Status: Show only specific stages
- Search: Find videos by title or notes
Sorting#
Sort videos within each column by:
- Date added
- Target publish date
- Custom order (drag to reorder)
Archiving Published Videos#
After a video is published and you've moved on:
- Mark it as "Published"
- Add the YouTube URL
- Eventually delete to free up space
This keeps your Pipeline focused on active work.
Best Practices#
Regular Pipeline Reviews#
Weekly, review your pipeline:
- Move stuck videos forward or remove them
- Ensure nothing is lost in early stages
- Balance videos across stages
Clear Working Titles#
Use descriptive titles so you remember the concept:
- ❌ "Video 1"
- ✅ "Comparison: Tool A vs Tool B for Beginners"
Add Target Dates#
Even rough estimates help:
- Creates accountability
- Enables content calendar views
- Helps team coordination
Keep Notes Updated#
As you work on a video:
- Add key points from research
- Note feedback from reviews
